![]() ![]() The sheer depth of the writing, involvement with the characters and Michael's superb delivery produced some genuinely breathtaking moments. The narration is excellent from the usual duo with particular kudos to Michael Kramer. The sheer depth of the world-builidng (geography, flora, fauna, politics etc), characters and the magic system is mind-numbing. ![]() If this author can complete this incredible work to such a high standard I would say he's knocking on the door of being considered one of the great authors! Maybe I'm biased but the scale of the achievement would be immense. ![]() It's amazing to me that he has now produced three such excellent fantasy novels in his Stormlight Archive. Mr Sanderson of course thinks even bigger than that, he's apparently planning ten of these incredible publications! He really does put the epic into epic fantasy. When he releases a second such behemoth in the same series and it's just as good I'd label that as outstanding. When an author produces an audiobook of almost 50 hours in length and it's excellent from start to finish that's a hell of an achievement. ![]()

This is a gateway series to a wider love of all romance, as I can attest. ![]() This isn’t the classical period romance with swooning women and handsome dukes-although there is nothing wrong with those stories. By taking up the story of a girl who has been wrongfully labeled time and time again, the author is addressing the undeniable errs on our part. ![]() A Girl Like That mirrors just how toxic our world has become. It has been a couple of days since I finished reading this splendid novel, but I can still feel Zarin’s heartache. In this heart-wrenching debut contemporary, Tanaz Bhathena gives voice to the misunderstood and the condemned. So when Zarin and Porus end up dead in a car crash, people begin to wonder about the girl that was Zarin Wadia. It is only in Porus, her childhood acquaintance, that she finds some kind of a solace from this relentless torment of a life she is living. ![]() But what no one tries to understand is the hurt coursing through her veins upon not knowing how her mother died or how she came to be from a girl looking for love to a girl whom everyone hates. They drown her with their hypocrisy and presumptions. They call her names – slut, rebel, ungrateful, bastard. From the students studying at Qala Academy in Jeddah to their parents, Zarin’s aunt and their neighbors, even the teachers who are meant to guide and educate can’t seem to get past their preconceived notions about the kind of girl Zarin is. ![]() Everyone has an opinion about Zarin Wadia. ![]() ![]() SCHOLASTIC, SCHOLASTIC AUDIOBOOKS, and associated logos are trademarksĪnd/or registered trademarks of Scholastic Inc. ![]() Except Gail.īut is one girl enough to find a long-dead king, kill the wicked queen, and save the world?
